How We Convert your LP's into a CD format

Steps involved in restoring and transferring a recording to CD:

  • Each incoming order is entered into a data base
  • Each record is thoroughly cleaned; using Vinyl Head Records, detergent based Ph Neutral and alcohol free wash, which leaves no residue. This removes any dust, dirt or grime.
The surface of the record is never touched by human hands
(It’s amazing what you can teach animals to do these days & all for peanuts or doggie snacks)
  • The optimum playback adjustments are determined for each individual recording. Only the cue lever is used when lowering the stylus (no lowering by hand, paw or claw) the records are played once, (no repeated plays, no partial plays).
  • Each recording is restored individually, taking into consideration many factors, such as the physical condition and the genre.
For example rock is approached very differently than classical –
Usually clad in a hooded black robe, ringing a bell and crying “Bring out your Grateful Dead, bring out your Grateful Dead”.
  • The recording is processed in the digital domain: Nondestructively, with the most advanced programs currently available (as used by the BBC, the Viennese Symphonic Library and Sterling Sound in New York ). Even with powerful computers, this can take much longer than the actual recording.
  • While the CD is burnt (to red book standard) the cover art is scanned or sourced from the internet and prepared as the cover insert and CD label.
  • The CD is created and labeled.
  • Each outgoing order is cross referenced with the data base. Then carefully packed, ready to ship back to the customer.
